At Counselling with Tammie, your privacy, trust, and confidentiality are at the heart of the work I do. I am committed to protecting your personal information and handling it with care, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What information I collect

When you contact me through the website form, I receive your name, email address, and any message you choose to include. If you contact me by email or phone, I also receive any personal information you provide in your message. If we begin working together, I will collect additional information such as your contact details, emergency contact, GP information (where appropriate), and brief session notes to support our work.

How I use your information

Your information is used solely to communicate with you, manage appointments, and provide you with a safe and professional counselling service. I do not share your information with third parties, unless required by law or in exceptional circumstances where there may be a serious risk of harm, and I will always try to discuss this with you first, wherever possible.

How long I keep your information

I keep client records, including contact information and brief session notes, for up to 7 years after our work ends, as recommended by professional bodies such as the BACP. After that time, your data is safely deleted or destroyed. Emails and initial enquiries that do not lead to ongoing work are deleted once no longer needed.
